Accessibility
ChildCareHelpMA aims to be usable by all Massachusetts families, including parents with visual, motor, hearing, or cognitive disabilities.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer)
- Color contrast on text aims to meet WCAG 2.1 AA — formal audit pending
- Eligibility form is keyboard-navigable (Tab forward, Shift+Tab back)
- Visible focus rings on interactive elements
- Bilingual (English + Spanish) with locale-aware page language
- Print-friendly layout for parents using libraries, WIC offices, or social workers
Known gaps
- Full screen-reader compatibility audit is pending — formal review with assistive-tech testers planned before broader public launch
- Some icon-only graphics may still need aria-label improvements
- Color-contrast review is ongoing — report any unreadable text below
